Howard Leong-Poi is a Cardiologist/ Echocardiographer at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Toronto, and Medical Director of the Heart, Lung and Vascular Program. He is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. His primary clinical interests are contrast and stress echocardiography with a primary research focus on ultrasound-targeted gene- and cell-based regenerative therapies for cardiovascular diseases. He has published over 160 articles in peer-reviewed journals, with his research funded by the Canadian Institutes of Heath Research, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation.
